Your donation to support WASIMA evaluation means promoting our expansion around other Sukuma dwelt protected areas in western Tanzania.

Sukuma youths fetching water for cattle at Minyonso village, Tupindo subvillage in Mpimbwe. Due to overgrazing rivers dry earlier in August leaving livetocks and people struggling for water. People dig to create water holes from within riversands where as cattle are taken to wells to some catchments, springs and river pools.

About This Project

WASIMA Campaign

Tanzania is the primary remaining stronghold of lions, however the numbers are declining precipitously. There are many causes, but lion-killing by locals plays an important part. With Experiment support we ran a campaign to empower local sentiment against illegal lion killing and enhance environmental practices among Sukuma communities on the boundary of Katavi National Park. We now need to test effectiveness of the campaign to determine expansion of our operations.
