A day in front of the camera talking about Biciola as an innovative ocean solution

A week ago, I had this amazing opportunity to chat with Grisel Mercadante from Fundación EL Zulia Recicla, an organization working really hard to raise awareness about these ocean problems and help people take action through recycling. It was an honor to talk with someone so involved in this foundation. We discussed something really important to me—the problems our oceans are facing, especially microplastics. Usually, I'm the one behind the camera, but when it comes to discussing something I care deeply about, I'm willing to take the risk of being on camera! And one of my big concerns is how our oceans are in serious trouble, especially because of plastic pollution. It's causing huge problems for our marine life, and even ending up in our food chain. Microplastics, these tiny pieces of plastic pollution, are a big part of it.

During our conversation, we discussed why it's so important to reduce our use of single-use plastics, and what's happening to our oceans right now. And we ended on a positive note, talking about possible solutions like Biciola.

Post Note: 📝 I just wanted to let you know that the video is in Spanish. But no worries! I'm working on adding subtitles and a translation so you won't miss out. Stay tuned for the updated version coming soon!

Biciola. It's an innovative machine that works with a manual tumble system. You just pedal a bicycle to activate it. The idea behind it is simple but brilliant: Biciola uses centrifugation to separate particles based on their density and the speed of the rotor. This means it can actually remove microplastics from sandy beaches, which are some of the worst pollutants in the ocean.

But Biciola doesn't just do the job of removing microplastics; it also raises awareness about ocean pollution. When you pedal the machine, you can see with your own eyes how much trash is in the beachy sands, and how hard it is to get rid of it. It makes you think more about what you use and throw away, and it inspires you to take action and reduce your impact on the environment.

Biciola is a great example of how even simple and low-cost machines can make a huge difference for our planet and our health. When we work together, we have the power to create a cleaner, healthier world for everyone.

Help us make this project a reality and pave the way for positive change!

About This Project

Our team is developing a microplastic removal machine to filter and strain contaminated sand effectively. We call it Biciola, and we plan to build one machine and install it on a public beach in Venezuela. To test the bike, we will offer conservation talks to the community and encourage people to clean the beach through various incentives. These volunteers will provide us with valuable data. Biciola is a powerful tool for raising awareness among residents and bringing communities together.
