On to the Next Goal!

Thank so much to everyone who contributed to us meeting our funding goal! Your generosity is inspiring. There are 9 days left for this campaign. Any funds added above the initial goal will go into a fund that pays for treatment for those who can't afford it. It is my ultimate goal, along with answering important scientific questions about the use of ketamine for depression, for people to have access to this treatment regardless of ability to pay.

I have suffered from Major Depression, Panic Attacks, and P.T.S.D. for decades. I have seen Psychiatrists since the age of 19. I am now age 56. My depression is soooooo bad, that my procrastination has become severe. Even extremely NECESSARY everyday tasks are a major struggle for me. I am on SSI and cannot afford the Ketamine IV treatment, but feel it is my only hope. There is a clinic in my area that offers this treatment, if I could only find a way to pay for it.

I begin infusions Monday, wondering what data you've collected and if I can help. Also a question - could virtual reality ( a meditative, calming episode) help bring about awe, and improve outcome without the need for a higher dose? Each patient could serve as their own control, since multiple infusions are given. Thanks!

About This Project

Ketamine Treatment Centers of Princeton

Ketamine is a very rapidly-acting and safe antidepressant medication given as an intravenous infusion, during which people may experience a brief dissociative state. Extensive research into the mechanism of ketamine has focused on physical/chemical changes in the brain, but little is known about the therapeutic role of the experience itself. Many describe a sense of profound awe during their treatment, and we want to see if the feeling of awe and antidepressant effects are correlated.
