Update on Project Funding

An outside source of funding allowed us to fully fund an HP EliteBook Workstation with a 1TB SSD ($1,500), and it will be needed given the volume and complexity of processing we anticipate. As well, an additional $300 was allocated for travel this summer, and another $250 was allocated for field gear. The project total was decremented to account for this funding.

Thanks again for your contributions! Please send questions or concerns to our message box and I will reply ASAP.

Update: We evaluating HP ZBook, a newer model of the above, due to supply issues with the older models.

About This Project

Biodiversity of plant species is thought by many to be essential to forest function and health. But what elements of forest structure are most important to species diversity? How do microclimate variables like temperature, evapotranspiration and photosynthetically active radiation interact? I'm a graduate student focused on developing spatio-temporal models that characterize forest structure and enable forest measurements to be analyzed to aid in forest policy making decisions.
