Lab Note 1; 9-17-18Hello all,
I am extremely grateful for all of the wonderful support so far! Thank you for helping to make my dream a reality! Attached are a couple of 3D renders of the "new" experimental set up. The glovebox (Cleatech 2500-A) is being replaced with a custom made stainless steel ISO vacuum chamber- mainly, because it is less expensive, easier to transport, and overall, probably a better fit for this project in the first place. More photos and renders to come!

About This Project

Developing a production method for the synthesis of high quality monolayer Graphene sheets

New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology

Langmuir Blodgett monolayers of polyhalogenated benzene will be polymerized in-situ by photon mediated sigma—>sigma* transitions. The resultants are large conjugated systems which exhibit Graphene characteristics as the molar ratio of Carbon to Hydrogen approaches infinity. I hypothesize that photolysis and polymerization of these monolayers could provide a means to synthesizing large surface area, homogenous Graphene sheets.
