Day 10-Coring Is So Successful Today!!! Our Hard Work Pays Off!! A 5.75 m Long Sediment Core Get!!

We have to race with time today so not many pictures to show. 今天我们完全是在和时间赛跑，所以没时间照相。

Finally, Livingstone piston corer works perfect today and we just finish all the coring work before bad weather comes!!!!! 5.75m long sediment core extracted from Lago Ditkebi!!!! This core may cove as long as the past 8000 years!!! THANK GOD!!!!!

最后，长芯采芯机今天完全无故障作业，而且我们也在坏天气到来之前完成了所有采样工作！Ditkebi湖，我们成功采到了5.75米的湖芯，应该有八千年老了吧？谢天谢地！！

After back to refugia with our 5.75m long core, I realize that I just look like this.....

当带着我们的长湖芯回到住处的时候，我发现我原来已经变成如此狼狈模样。。。

 

My left hand seriously swells and has no feeling, due to working in water for too long time.左手因为长期泡在水里而肿了起来，现在也没啥感觉了。

 

Face swells like a balloon....because of the coldness and tiredness.

脸也被冻得累得肿起来像个气球

 

Two pants are wet from inside to outside, hiking boots are just like water bowls....

里外两条防水裤子全湿，登山靴里全是水

 

Bruising everywhere in my legs because we have to kneel on the cold and wet platform to extract sediment cores by pulling them out from deep water.

提取湖芯需要把深插在8米深水下的钻心机从水里一次一次快速拔起来，必须跪在钻芯平台（又湿又冷全是水）上跪着才能使得上劲儿，所以腿上现在全是淤青。

No matter how hard it is, we finally get our long core.....everything pays off. Thank you my friends who click "Like" on my yesterday's moments. Your wishes work today!

无论过去几个小时过去几天有多难，我们总算是成功的采回了长芯也算是不枉我累成这副狗样子。。。谢谢那些给我微信票圈点赞的朋友们，你们的祝福今天都起了作用了。

Dave must be very tired too, hope he will have a good rest tonight. I really thank him for the encouragement. 导师今天肯定也累趴下了，希望他今晚可以好好休息一下。没有他的鼓励，我们今天估计也才不会来这么好的样了，谢谢他。

Tomorrow, we will head to our second study lake (Lago Morrenas 3C) for coring short cores.
