Offering Observatory Naming Rights

After consultation with Kwesi at the Heritage Academy, we are offering naming rights for our observatory to a backer who makes a large donation to this project. This idea of naming a privately funded telescope after a benefactor is a fairly common practice with small observatories.

With this in mind we would like to offer naming rights for our observatory in Ghana to a donor who is willing to contribute a total of $12K toward this project. Any additional money raised beyond the $12K total for the project will be used for support/maintenance of the facility and the curriculum after the telescope has been installed.

Feel free to contact me to discuss this if this is something you'd be interested in doing.

Thanks! Froney Crawford

About This Project

This project will establish a small observatory at the Heritage Academy in rural Ghana. We will also develop telescope lab exercises for students to use. This will form part of a new science-based educational program at the school and will address the question of how hands-on science affects student motivation and learning. This will be the first (and possibly only) exposure that many of these students will have to science.
