Papers, Posters, & Next Steps
Hi All,
I wanted to update everyone on a couple of things:
1. Dr. Telzer and I have submitted a manuscript of our findings for publication in a developmental psychology journal. The paper is titled Changes in Family Cohesion and Links to Depression During the College Transition. It will likely be some time before the paper is published: some journals take several months to review and papers are rarely, if ever, accepted outright. That is, they are either rejected or the authors are asked to revise the paper and re-submit. Regardless, I will post a notification once the paper has been accepted for publication with detailed instructions on how to access it, free of charge!
2. For those who will be in the Urbana-Champaign area on April 23rd: I will be presenting my results on a poster during the university's Undergraduate Research Symposium. I'll be presenting at the Student Union in Illini Room A from 10:45AM to 12PM. Come out to check out the poster and we chat about science and other things!!
3. I have begun analyzing the dataset to answer another research question I had. I'm interested in how roommate relationships affect a behaviors and moods, specifically with respect to depression, substance use, and risk-taking behaviors. I'll be conducting more analyses over the coming months with the hopes of eventually drafting another paper for publication. Keep checking back for updates!
Regards,
Joao
