Update from Yale iGEM

Greetings from Yale iGEM 2015!

As you may have noticed, a few changes have occurred to our campaign goal. Following a discussion with our team, we decided to lower our funding goal to $1,500, which is a more appropriate funding amount given the current state of our project’s results and our research program over the next few weeks. Since we will be participating in the 2015 iGEM Grand Jamboree in the coming weeks, much of our focus has shifted to completing our remaining competition requirements. Due to this circumstance, we have also extended our deadline past the competition to allow our team members to focus on work specifically related to our iGEM presentation. We hope you understand that your donations have helped immensely and we are very thankful for your support. Please direct any questions or concerns you may have about these changes to igem.yale@gmail.com and we will do our best to answer them promptly. Looking forward to updating you on our competition performance and any exciting results in the weeks to come!

Thanks again,

Yale iGEM 2015

About This Project

Fossil fuels are unsustainable and damaging to the environment. Photosynthetic organisms use only sunlight and CO2 to create fuel for themselves. But without the right tools to harness its full potential, this valuable natural process remains largely untapped. That's why we are developing a genetically engineered photosynthetic bacteria that is self-sustaining and makes mass amounts of biofuels as a cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative to current means of energy production.
