Ending of Trial 1 and Beginning of Trial 2

After several weeks, I finished Trial 1, and bagged all of the data and took photos of all of the data that I got. I have looked at many of the fruit flies that I got, and I have seen no mutations what so ever in the first generation, but I am also looking at the second generation currently. With this data, I added a group that would be exposed for 8 hours. I also started my second trial, and yesterday released the adults of the parent generation, much like that of the previous trial.

Thanks for continuing the project while a pandemic continues to upend peoples lives. I think it is admirable that you are doing true science rather than assuming that social media rumors of extreme radiation damage are true.

About This Project

Low frequency radiation is a very common form of radiation in people's lives, two examples being cell phones and car radar emitters, used as safety features. Some studies have raised concerns over cell phones, but the available literature remains inconclusive. I am testing E.coli using the Ames test, a test for mutagenic substances, and fruit flies, using both cell phones and radar guns. I hypothesize there will be no change in the rate of mutations among test specimen when exposed.
