Roaches vs Angelica
I want to thank you for your support and tell you what my next trip has waiting for me. In less than a week I will be in one of the most amazing caves in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. This place is home not only to the tequila bats but several species of insectivorous bats as well. To get there, my team and I will have take a small fisher boat from the coast of Jalisco, navigate against the tide and arrive to a small island. The cave is basically the only thing standing in the middle of the ocean, it has no beach, and to enter we will need to rely on an expert fisherman, good weather, and a lot of Dramamine. To make things even better, the expected temperature exceeds 40 degrees and the smell of guano would make you want to jump into the water and swim back to shore. If this didn't scare you a little bit, then a wall cover by roaches the size of my hand might make you think twice about visiting this place.
But as much as I hate roaches, and believe me I've had my fare of them in New York, I am very excited to see this incredible place that is home to an amazing amount of animals. I will try to document the good, the bad and the funny so you can feel right there with me as you enjoy a cold drink and sit comfortably on a couch next to the A/C.
During this trip, my fundraiser will also meet its deadline, I am close to reaching my goal but have yet to raise $2000. If you would like to increase your donation or invite more people to join the cause I will make sure you also get a cockroach as a souvenir!
