First project updates

First off, thank you to all the backers so far. It means so much to us to have your support. We are off to a great start and already 75% towards our total goal!

For the past three months, we have been conducting the first research activity of our project - the multimedia interviews. So far, we've had 18 individuals participate in the activity. We are seeing, through their eyes, the challenges that they face in accessing food in our community. They have taken hundreds of photos and videos of their experiences, which are invaluable in helping us understand their experiences with food insecurity.

In total we are aiming to have 25 individuals participate in this activity. We expect to have the last 7 people complete this activity in the next few weeks.

We are also in the process of transcribing the recordings of the interviews that we have already captured. Once we have transcribed these videos, we'll be moving on the next study activity - the participatory data analysis workshops!

We're aiming to provide updates on a weekly basis and will have more and more to share as the project goes on. Thank you again, to all our wonderful backers!

About This Project

We are using a Community-Based Participatory Research approach to explore the experiences of people facing food insecurity, their challenges in accessing food, and opportunities to take action to help people realize their own personal and family food security. Using multimedia interviews, participatory data analysis, and design research, this project strives to discover barriers to food security and to develop ways to improve food access in Boulder, Colorado.
