All hands on deck
**Posted by Darja on behalf of Charlotte as internet is proving tricky in Burkina Faso**
The trial in Burkina Faso involves a lot of work and we've hired a brilliant local farmer to be our technician, Poda Nambepierre, we've set-up a laboratory out here in the village.

It's been surprisingly problem free so far -- in fact, the main problem we've had was finding protective gloves that are large enough to fit Poda's hands!

We are currently ready to go, with 7 cages set up. We have 6 different artificial feeds (Note from Darja: one of the artificial feeds mentioned in the previous post can only be used in the lab due to needing potentially harmful chemicals to extract metabolites which is why the field lab has 6 diets instead of 7) to feed the caterpillars (those in the control cage will be fed fresh shea leaves) and we have a little box of eggs that we are checking every morning and evening.
When the eggs hatch we'll see how the new caterpillars like their new food!
