Challanges

I discuss in this lab entry the challanges I am facing at the moment regarding ordering the cells to image them. I have not found a collection lab that would sell me perminant slides of the cells at an affordable price, and the collection labs that that I found will sell only living cells, but will not send these cells to Saudi Arabia since normal mail takes ages to get processed and the collection labs will not send the cells through a fast courier (thus I end up with dead cells). My solution to is expand my cell types to include other cell types (diatoms and algea) that I can easily purchase and receive.

I don't like the final quality of the video, unfortunatly my computer does not have enough processing power to record HD videos. I will try to fix this.

About This Project

I think we have the technology to develop an artificial intelligence model that can differentiate between Dinoflagellates by simply examining their images. I will generate a database of 64 Dinoflagellate species, with 2000 images of each species. These images will feed an artificial neural network to train it to classify each species. My aim is to develop an image database of Dinoflagellate species, as well as a trained neural network that classifies them with greater than 99% accuracy.
