Brackish tidal marshes are vital blue-carbon ecosystems, but rising methane emissions threaten their stability and accelerate climate change. This project investigates whether a bioengineered humic-acid-binding peptide can enhance natural microbial processes that suppress methane production. If successful, this research could help advance new biotechnology approaches for wetland restoration and greenhouse gas reduction.
