Wow! It's funded!
Well, my project made it! I am ecstatic that this worked!
First off, I want to thank all the backers for my project; without you all, it would have not been possible. I also want to thank anyone who shared my project over the last 30 days. I am floored by all the support over the last few weeks.
I am really excited to move onto the next phase of the project. Currently, I am still recruiting participants; my goal is to get at least 15 and currently, I am at 10. I sent a reminder out, and continue to be hopeful that I can get a few more participants. I am hoping to have my participant list finalized by the second week of October and start data collection shortly afterward.
Since the goal is to build a better guideline for assessment, I am going to randomize participants into two experimental groups and one control. The control group will get the TGMD-3 protocol as it is described in the instructor's manual, using only verbal direction. The first experimental group will receive a task card prompt instead of a verbal direction; the second experimental group will get a video prompt. After each trial, regardless of group, participants will be asked to pick, from a choice of three picture cards, what activity they just completed as a validity check. Participants will be measured on their performance of the TGMD-3 measures, as well as percent correct on the validity check and overall time of assessment.
The SCQ, from this campaign, will be used at the beginning of the project to interview parents to get an understanding of the relative level of severity level of the child participants.
I hope to complete data collection by the end of December. I will document progress during the study, so please keep in touch.
Since there is a few days left, any funding received from now on will be used to off-set the cost of purchasing a year license for SPSS quantitative analysis software.
