First goal reached- Thank you!

It's been a whirlwind of a few days with the project reaching 50% funded on Saturday to 100% funded by  Monday night. It is absolutely incredible, and we are all stunned by your generosity. Thank you so much to all of our backers. It is amazing the project is now guaranteed to go ahead.

We have added a stretch goal which will allow us to buy even more Hookpods and LED lights to send out to vessels in the Brazilian fleet. Every $10 raised will buy an extra Hookpod, which has the potential to save even more birds.

Gibson's albatross by Steph Winnard & Oliver Prince

Tonight at 11PM in the UK, the project with the most backers will be announced and will be the recipient of the $1000 grant. We are currently in first place but only slightly. We still need your support to get as many backers as possible by tonight. Every $1 counts!

Thank you from everyone at the Albatross Task Force.

About This Project

Endangered albatrosses and other seabirds are accidentally killed in longline fisheries around the world. In the Brazilian fleet we want to test Hookpods, a new technology, designed to safely deploy hooks, so they cannot be ingested by birds. We also want to test new reusable LED lights, to replace single use light sticks that are currently disposed of in the oceans in vast numbers every day contributing to marine pollution.

Blast off!
