Emerald ash borer spread to white fringe tree!
Our frequent collaborator at Wright State University, Professor Don Cipollini has found emerald ash borer infesting white fringe trees (Chionanthus virginicus) in Ohio. While fringe tree is still a closely related member of the olive family, this is the first evidence of EAB infesting trees outside the ash (Fraxinus) genus in North America.
