Strawberry DNA Extraction Classes and Pink Glowing Bacteria

Hello everyone! We would like to share with you BioLogik's progress in the lab.  We have started teaching our first classes by doing DNA extraction from strawberries.  Here is a photo of our first class!

Also we successfully made our first genetic transformation of e.coli.  We added what is called RFP or Red Fluorescent Protein that is usually found in sea creatures with bioluminescent properties.  You can first see the individual colonies growing up, and then the selected colonies streaked on a new gel, and lastly the bacteria fluorescing under UV light.
