Dear all and in particular dear backers,

On behalf all the contributors of this project, we are very happy to announce the publication acceptance today of a first manuscript as a scientific article including part of the outcomes of this research. It was a long process, but now retrieving. We will post more information upon publication. Our paper will be published in STOTEN journal with the title "Hawai’ian coral holobionts reveal algal and prokaryotic host specificity, intraspecific variability in bleaching resistance, and common interspecific microbial consortia modulating thermal stress responses ".

Hopefully, more works will follow this one, in shortter lapses of time

We are immensely grateful to all the backers, co-authors and curious people following or about to follow our work... and we thank all marine, aereal, terrestrial creatures willing to teach us the wonder of Life.

Thank you!... Thanks... ¡¡Gracias!!!... Grazie... Mahalo

About This Project

Last summer, coral reefs in Hawaii turned white when high ocean temperatures caused corals to lose the microbes that normally give them color. These microbes also provide nutrition and disease-protection to corals, and without them, "bleached" corals often die. However, corals can survive—and even adapt—if their healthy microbes come back. Now, we are tracking coral recovery in Hawaii up close to understand how the fate of these corals, and even the future of coral reefs, may depend on microbes.

Blast off!
