I am sorry to say that I have been informed that the launch has been rescheduled for the 19th of September. This has happened because NASA Ames (the primary payloader) needs more time to construct their payload. I know it is disappointing, though this project is a minor addition to a much larger launch, and the date is largely dictated by the needs of the primary customer. Such events are not unique in the realm of space travel, and are in the grand scheme of things a relatively small price to pay for a fantastic opportunity. I would like to thank everyone who has backed this project - without your help, this would have never have made it off of the drawing board. It began as a dream, and today it is a tangible reality in the form of an operational payload. Constructing this project, finding a launch slot, etc. has been a great experience builder, something that is not normally available in high school. It really means a lot. Thank you.

About This Project

Our team is testing the TinyDuino, which is a new, small, stackable microcontroller with low power consumption. It can be used to collect data or control systems as a tiny computer, and could be ideal for small satellites. We are testing it through logging data from a magnetometer, temperature sensor, and accelerometer to a micro SD card. This microcontroller could reduce the cost of launching small satellites by allowing them to be smaller. It could also allow standard sized craft to do more.
