Success!

Today Celestis Memorial Spaceflights said that they would fly our payload in their spare space on the November UP Aerospace launch for $1000! I am very surprised but very happy that this has happened! Because of this unexpected event our funding target was reduced. The money that will not be used on this launch will go towards the satellite that is our next project. This suborbital flight is a stepping stone to the satellite. The satellite will be a cube that is 5 cm on each side, and will travel to low Earth orbit. It will be based around the TinyDuino microcontroller and we are planning to have it take pictures of the Earth and post them to a social media account, likely Instagram. Thank you so much to everyone who has helped us! We greatly appreciate your help and could never have done it without you!

About This Project

Our team is testing the TinyDuino, which is a new, small, stackable microcontroller with low power consumption. It can be used to collect data or control systems as a tiny computer, and could be ideal for small satellites. We are testing it through logging data from a magnetometer, temperature sensor, and accelerometer to a micro SD card. This microcontroller could reduce the cost of launching small satellites by allowing them to be smaller. It could also allow standard sized craft to do more.

Blast off!
